 Headpiece Info
Choosing a Tiara can be a daunting process especially if you intend to purchase it from the web.
Before you even think of choosing a headpiece, choose your gown, it is far easier to match a headpiece to the gown than the gown to the headpiece. It is important to choose a style that suits your face and features. If you have a :
Round Face: You can make your face appear longer by choosing a tiara that has height or a peak.
The Lola Tiara or our Spring Blooms Tiara would be perfect.
Long Face: A tiara with little or no height that extends over your head from one side to the other at an even height. Such as my Bramble Tiara
Oval Face: Your lucky that most styles will flatter you if you have an oval face, though headbands and lower tiaras will look best. Tiaras with a peak are best avoided.
 Barrette or Backpiece: Perfect for a simple hairstyle when you want to accent your hairstyle yet keep it low key.
 Bun Crown: A bun crown is a complete circular design that is worn around an updo, they can also be worn as crowns. A Tiara can also be used for a simpler version of this look.
 Mini Combs, Chignon Pins & Large Hairpins: These are styles meant for the bride who wants a touch of sparkle without the look of the traditional tiara or crown. Tuck one of these pieces behind the ear Spanish style or into a chignon. A wonderful modern look with a romantic feel. Looks especially lovely with smaller matching accent hairpins scattered throughout your updo.
 Hair Pins: Hairpins can be scattered throughout your updo, pinned in a row similar to a tiara or used to pull/keep your hair away from your face. Hairpins are available in the traditiona 'U' style or as bobbypins.
 Headband / Double Headband: Headbands look gorgeous with short hairstyles, and work well for brides who wish to wear their hair down with the headband keeping the hair away from her face. A headband can also be used to decorate upswept hair. This is great design for the bride who still want's a little something without the added height of a tiara.
A Double Headband can be worn like a single headband but can also be tilted forward like a tiara.
Hairvines: Hairvines are perfect to use for the look of a headband, or to plait through braids for a pretty look. Other suggestions are to weave through a chignon or wrap around a top knot. Our hairvines are very versatile! Loops are attached to the ends to aid in securely pinning into the hair, and for easily attaching a clasp and extender chain to make into a choker for after the wedding.
 Tiara: Tiaras from Something Beautiful come in a variety of styles to suit the tastes of any bride. No need anymore to look like a pageant princess, that is unless you really want to! Choose from romantic to avant garde designs.
Tiara Comb: A comb that is decorated in a similar fashion to a tiara (just on a comb instead of a band) Tiara combs can be worn with most hairstyles, and can also be used for a less formal look.
Convertible Tiara / Headband: This is one of our newest additions. Convertible tiaras come exclusively in sterling silver or 14kt gold filled wire and are on a different band than the traditional taira's or headbands. Our convertible tiaras are approximately 6-9 inches long (depending on design) with loops on each end for securely pinning into the hair for the wedding then adding the matching extender chain and clasp to wear afterwards. Once you have chosen your tiara be sure to show it to your hair stylist in plenty of time before the wedding, so that they may get familiarized with it. Each tiara is different and your stylist will thank you for this. And that’s it really!!
